Fringe Files Feb 4

Pause. Deep breath. Continue.

Well folks, the Fringe office is a hive of activity as we count down to the launch of Fringe 08. The. Biggest. Ever. Yep, we've cracked the tonne, with more than 100 total productions, including our own Fringe-Made events. Of course, with the hype comes all the hard work, so we've got a lot of catching up to do on the Fringe Files…

The Programme is launched!

Well, it wasn't quite the red carpet, but we still managed to attract a few hundred eager and artistic folk to our official programme launch party last Thursday. Judith Tizard and Kerry Prendergast (Assoc. Minister for Arts and Culture and Mayor of Wellington respectively) kicked things off in grand style, flinging our swanky hot-pink programmes to the breathless masses.

In keeping with The. Biggest. Ever. Fringe, the floor of venue The Front Room gave way beneath a forklift carrying a pallet of bulging programmes. True story.

Check out the photos here. High society folks!

And on comes the festival…

Yep, the curtains go up next Friday February 8 for three glorious weeks. Get your programmes now from all the usuals – libraries, pamphlet racks, theatres, cool stores and galleries and get amongst the goodness.

Addicted?

Desperate for a Fringe fix but can't afford top-dollar for the shows? Can't go wrong with a Fringe Addict card. Mega discounts on all Fringe shows. Get your Fringe Addict Card at BATS, Fringe HQ in Civic Square or check out the programme for more details and the application form.

And with Valentines Day coming up, what better way to say 'I love you', than with the gift of Fringe?

News on Fringe shows

The Chit Chat Lounge

It's our very own live talk show – think of it as a nightly 'best-of', or the indispensable guide to all things Fringe in a nutshell. A very funny nutshell. Hosts Derek Flores and Vinyl Burns interview Fringe stars – who may even perform snippets and sneaky peaks of their productions – just like VCR tapes would preview Chuck Norris movies before the main feature. The Chit Chat Lounge's main web page is here.

For Fringe participants, you can book interviews on The Chit Chat Lounge, just as long as you get in quick – it's a popular show and it's filling fast! Email chitchatlounge@gmail.com for your slice of stardom!

"21 Reasons" why the party has been delayed...

Ok, so there aren't 21 reasons... but Rankle Productions would like to announce a change of dates for their fast-paced Fringe comedy "21 Reasons". Due to the disappearance of a cast member, "21 Reasons" will now be on from Monday 11th Feb - Thursday 14th Feb, all shows at 10pm. Come and join us for chippies, trestle tables and balloons at our authentic 21st party venue: Tararua Tramping Club Hall, Moncrieff St, Mt Vic. For more information search "21 Reasons" on Facebook events, or email us. Bookings rankleproductions@hotmail.com or 0272938152
