It's over!
Thanks to everyone who came along for my quirky tours of Wellington. One thing I put you wrong about: the Farmer's Market in Victoria Street is on Sunday mornings! (And don't forget the correct way to peel onions without crying...)
Acknolwedgements again to Matt Elliott, who originally had the idea it wasto do comedy on a bus. Congratulations to those of you on the Friday 6pm tour - your Gregorian chant in honour of St. Matthew was the best of all the tours!
And to Roger of Newlands Coach Service, once again: "Thank you Driver!"
See you on a bus or train some time!
Cheers
Mike
Friday's bookings update22.02.08 09:02

Only two shows left and both filling fast!
Tonight's 6pm tour has only about four seats left; the 8pm I can still accommodate about 10 more people.
Email me for a booking, and don't forget the bus leaves the Cenotaph on the corner of Lambton and Bowen. Avoid all other imitations!

Hi Everybody
(Hi Doctor Nick..)
The Comedy Omnibus, which is Comedy on a Bus, is almost over, but it's been going well good (as we say in the North-west of England).
Tonight's crowd (Thursday 21st) was tremendous - a full bus and some happy smiling faces (see the photo for evidence!).
One of the things I have realised about doing comedy on a mobile platform like a bus is that it's impossible to rehearse at the "venue" before opening night. I mean, I couldn't afford to charter an empty bus just for a dress rehearsal; who could? (Well, maybe Dylan Moran, Bill Bailey...) , so in hindsight I have to say that Tuesday's performance (the first) was a bit of a dress rehearsal, and the shos has got more 'fluent" (possibly fluid) since then.
I do want to say a HUGE thank-you to Roger the bus driver. He's in the employ of Newlands Coach Services , and after Tuesday's first run he's skilfully adapted his driving to match the timing of the content. This is a bus driver extraordinaire, and I'm very grateful to Newlands Coach Services and to him for that.
Anyway, it's all over tomorrow, Friday, with two performances. There are still just a few seats available on both the 6pm and 8pm tours, so if you'd likle to join us for this historical and occasionally hysterical tour of Wellington... make a booking!
Hugs
Mike
Which Cenotaph???20.02.08 11:02

I thought everyone knew where the Cenotaph was. D'oh! The bus departs the Cenotaph on the corner of Lambton Quay and Bowen Street, just below Parliament, and NOT the National War Memorial in Buckle Street!
Some people found out the hard way last night. There is only one Cenotaph, and only one Comedy Bus ;-)
Still a few seats available for tonight and for the Friday tours. Don't risk a door sale! Book!

A bigger bus!18.02.08 10:02

OK, due to popular demand I've arranged for a slightly bigger bus, so apart from Thursday's 6pm tour there are still some seats on the others, though only four for Tuesday :-) Going, going...

Hi Everyone!
A HUGE thanks for the deluge of bookings for my show. Thought I'd better update you on what's available and what's not. Here's the buzz (as at 9am Monday 18 Feb)...
Tuesday 6pm tour: 4 seats available (possibly 8 if I get a bigger bus)
Wednesday 6pm Tour: Still some seats available
Thursday 6pm Tour: Full!
Friday 6pm Tour: Plenty of seats left. Come on! Great way to end the week!
Friday 8pm Tour: Still some seats available
For those who've asked where the Cenotaph is, it's the big marble obelisk thing on the corner of Bowen Street and Lambton Quay. It has a horse and rider on top, and is guarded by two bronze lions at the base. Look for the big green comedy bus!
See you there!
